As a retailer, you’ll need insurance to protect your business from the usual concerns of break-in and theft of your stock to litigation from your customers and employees for injuries whilst on your premises or working for you.

There can be outside forces that you never considered too; In August 2011 riots cost UK retailers more than £300 million, with a catastrophic outcome for any business which hadn’t insured its buildings or stock. In 2007 floods devastated whole areas and stores that may have escaped the floodwaters suffered lost trade as customers simply could not get to their premises.
